Review of In the Company of Men (1997) by Pete W — 14 Jun 2007
Two yuppies (Chad and Howard) are sick of being screwed over by women, on a six week business trip they decide to re-address the balance by choosing a vulnerable target, dating her until it gets serious, and then dumping her, it?s a sadistic premise, but then this is the big bad corporate world.
The target Chad, who?s very much the leader, picks is a deaf receptionist (Christine), who unfortunately falls head over heels in love with him, that Howard falls in love with Christine just makes the whole affair all the more cruller, the premise ends as twisted as it started out, with Chad the heartless winner, the film is malicious, upsetting and funny in a nasty way but its also oddly compelling, if you ever wanted to really hate men, watch this movie.
