Review of In the Company of Men (1995) by Jacob D — 21 Jun 2008
Well, this was a better movie than I thought it would be. It developed the characters, the narrative and the emotional states. It demonstrated movement as well as stasis. I thought that it was a very good movie. Disturbing but good.
The theme was unsettling, not for it showed how blind we can be to our own actions as well as how mean hearted the human beast can be. It didn't seem over done to me. Not the kind of movie to see in multiple viewings, which, however, is how I saw it. Therefore, I lost track of some of the character's placement with in the plot outline. Not too important, but, would have greater cohesion with that detail in place.
Thumbs up, and I would see it again, if there was a bastard that I wanted to insult. Only problem is, he probably wouldn't get it. So, just thumbs up.
