Review of In the Company of Men (1995) by Alex W — 18 Nov 2012
Oh wow. I felt affirmed in my examination of character when, after watching the movie, I discovered that the character of Chad (played with slimy precision by Aaron Eckhart), was nominated for AFIs Heroes and Villains List.
During the entire film I was thinking to myself, shit, this guy should be at least in the top ten. He is one of the most despicable, vile, depraved, and ugly characters ever put on film. The way in which the film goes at great lengths to put a microscope over him is admirable and, well, fascinating.
The movie is driven by dialogue, and all of it feels natural and interesting. The fact of the matter is, this movie is fucked up. But it's great.
