Review of In the Bedroom (2001) by Sean T — 13 Jun 2007
Todd Field's gripping, haunting, and hurricane of emotional depth film about a couple's struggle with coming to terms with their only child's murder in the midst of their marriage's turmoil.
If a film's cast ever gave a best ensamble, it is here. Sissy Spacek and Tom Wilkinson are so real that its scary - making you forget that you're watching a movie. The characters are well developed, motivations never forced, cinematography was very good for a low budget, and the story stays it coarse.
However, the story has about twenty minutes of fillers that make it feel overly long and this film is certainly not for everyone. This movie is a must for true film buffs.
