I lost the fourth wall during this film; I yelled out DON'T! during a tense scene between the mother and girlfriend. Todd Field's directing made the film, with the actors speaking just a beat slower than mainstream film speed.
Deeply moving. I wanted it to win every academy award. "Little Children" was also intense, in its address to internal emotional needs and efforts to connect, repress, suture into societal demands.
