Review of In the Bedroom (2001) by Kirk V — 06 Feb 2010
Though it may seem like a quiet film, it's as Sissy Spacek's character says at one time, it's like a pause in music, the silences seem so loud. This is a film about what happens when you're world changes forever and when your life is no longer your own.
It's a film about those times when the right words can never be found and the right action doesn't seem enough. It's a beautifully shot film with a script full of such honesty that sometimes it almost seems too much to take.
The performances by all involved, but especially Tom Wilkinson and Sissy Spacek are nothing short of first-rate and what the audience is given is a film that might, well, should leave an indelible imprint on the brain.
