Review of In the Bathtub of the World (2001) by George G — 06 Dec 2010
An experiment where the director films a minute of his life every day for a year. He then edits it together into a 80 minute film. For Caveh Zahedi fans, it's hilarious, moving and inspirational. His mushroom experience is gold.
It's also remarkable how personal it gets, especially involving his loved ones. Is it self-indulgent? Perhaps. But wouldn't everyone love to attempt this? Personally, I found it an absorbing and revealing experience.
It helps when you have such an intriguing subject like Caveh. He's a truly modern independent auteur.
