Review of In Search of Beethoven (2009) by Robin T — 10 Jan 2010
Did not expect a two-and-a-half hour documentary on Beethoven to hold my attention. Suffice to say that the documentary moved at a brisk pace, and I was left wanting for more!
The commentary about Beethoven's music, and what he was doing in his life, when he composed them, was very interesting to listen to. Art imitating life?
I still don't know what an adagio or a fugue means - but I can relate to what feeling the composer wanted to evoke in his audience.
Watch it if you get the chance. You'll definitely come out thinking that it is not "elevator music"!
