Review of In Love We Trust (2008) by Steve W — 16 Sep 2011
When their daughter is diagnoses with a disease, a divorced couple discovers only a blood sibling can save the girl. Problem is, both parties are remarried, and it threatens to tear both families apart.
Despite the strong acting and good narrative, I noticed that it is a good character study. There is no black and white, only shades of gray, No one is the real badguy, just a situation that people do not agree on.
The movie does seem to drag on for a bit, it doesn't reveal the main plot point until about thirty minutes into the film. It also never actually completes the main plot line, only the conflict leading up to it.
Despite a few nitpicks, a strong drama about moral implications and family dynamics.
