Review of In Her Shoes (2005) by Andrew M — 14 Feb 2010
It may sound like a lame film, but I really enjoyed it, Toni Collette and Cameron Diaz look nothing like relatives, but they did have a really good on screne family type chemistry which worked really well in this film.
They were convincing as sisters purely for that, they both played it to a T, and it did make me cry a little. But I think the central idea of a film about sisterly love is a bit weak. There isn't the same bonding with women that men tend to have.
Its more a "sex in the city" type of thing for us girls. So the idea of a female buddy movie doesn't quite work. Nice idea, but its a load of crap. Sorry. Liked it but it doesn't really fit.
