Review of In Fear (2013) by Jason M — 04 May 2014
The what not to do manual for being in a horror film. Getting past the ridiculousness of the characters' actions takes too much away from the movie. In Fear does an excellent job with suspense but the whole sequence of finding ways for the characters to surrender whatever safe havens available grows annoying.
Also it's simply impossible to be this lost(just go back the way you came), but I'll chalk that up to convention. Much of the experience is fairly comical it so unbelievable at times. Through all of its problems, In Fear is commendable for its execution of suspense using only a road, a car and three characters.
Not bad! Worth a watch.
