Review of In Bruges (2008) by Wendy K — 09 Jul 2013
I've been meaning to see this for a while because Colin Farrell got a Golden Globe for this, and the director also wrote and directed "Seven Psychopaths" which is another movie I want to see.
I didn't go in with much expectation though because I have no idea where Bruges is lollll, but I suppose that's the point! This movie's screenplay is fucking brilliant. Really. It's clever, dark and comedic - all at the same time.
Very well-written stuff. Colin Farrell really shows his comedic and emotional timing in this movie. Actually, the entire cast was fantastic, including Brendan Gleeson who really stands out near the end, to Clemence Poesy who plays that casual romance girl (idk lol) well, and Ralph Fiennes who is as badass as one expects from him! A little slow moving near the beginning, but once you get into the second third of the movie, it gets going and you start to really appreciate it.
