Review of In a World... (2013) by Sachin G — 03 Sep 2014
"In a World... where a writer/actor/director needs a metaphor to break into the hollywood system, one woman decides she'll go to the lengths of the Earth, and it's sunken other lost worlds, to dig up the one story we all want to see... Hollywood Trailer Audio Recording wars?".
Seriously, this movie defys expectation and was made with love. A respectable if clunky by the numbers story about coming into one's own. Lake Bell and indie comedy pals punch up a seemingly flat premise into a personal story of twists and turns plus a baked in message on feminism vs. male dominated industry.
Amuzing, low budget, high cameo indie fare with enough surprises for a pass. Earns its own. Ms. Bell is a real 'Hum Dinga.'.
