1950 was an amazing year for Hollywood movies. Check it out: All About Eve, Sunset Boulevard, Born Yesterday, The Asphalt Jungle, DOA and In a Lonely Place. Besides being Bogie's most interesting and complex performance, the movie takes you to a kind of Hollywood that we'd never been before: dark, dangerous and filled with disillusion and yearning.
Great turn by Gloria Grahame too.
