Review of In a Lonely Place (1950) by Kent K — 07 Apr 2010
An intriguing and dark romance. Bogart is perfect playing the character Dixon Steele, somehow managing to be both admirable and frightening. Also, the atmosphere Ray crafts is brilliant, and the conflict it creates in is thrilling.
A real relentless watch from start to finish; messing with your mind and mood throughout. Simply, an awesome film; my eyes were wide. "I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me.
" Classic.
