Review of Imperium (2016) by Richard S — 15 Mar 2017
Daniel Radcliffe takes on 2 roles in this movie, firstly as an unconvincing FBI agent who is sent undercover to infiltrate a white supremacist group who have big plans to start a race war on US soil with the help of some explosive devices.
Radcliffe's 2nd role emerges as he goes undercover as a full blown neo Nazi consumed by hate and it's this half of the central character's role that he excels in which is not a sentence I thought I would ever type.
I thought the story was handled well with moments of great tension as his new found friends become suspicious of the newcomer. However, it didn't quite reach the heights of other greats from this genre because I felt the movie did lose it's way a little somewhere in the middle.
Decent performance though from the man who was Harry Potter.
