Review of Immortals (2011) by Julian B — 22 May 2012
Mickey Rourke is the grim King Hyperion overtaking the world and there is noone left to stop him unless some simpleton kid from this random village can who has been touched by the gods.
Going into this movie I knew what to expect. 300 way over the top action with clunky dialogue about the gods. Now. I won't lie it was entertaining. I rather liked it in that aspect. It had a lot of open space to work with because of the vast spectrum of works with greek gods. It could have been muchhhhhhhh better in the story telling and done more. Its forgettable. Very dark but good dark. It lowkey borrows a torture tool from the medieval times.......... (if you pay attention in history class) Nice eye-candy tho. I like how grim it was. But, all you get out of it is " Danggg some decent action." Def a good rent and eat popcorn movie at the crib. For me tho not enough.
