Review of Immortals (2011) by Jao R — 27 May 2012
The movie would've been passably good if at least some of the glaring holes in the plot was fixed. for one, you have a god, Zeus, who declares that any god who interferes with humans would be penalized with DEATH, and here you have this same god waltzing in and out of human society, interfering in their lives! but it's okay, because he's "disguised as a human" and does not reveal himself as a god! rofl. I mean, how big of a hypocrite can you get?
Then every goddamn commander is assembled at the gate (not far back in the battles lines so they can be safe) so that when it topples, the Hellenic army is left leaderless, conveniently.
But perhaps the biggest issue for me here is: why imprison the titans at all? in Greek mythology, Zeus and the Olympians killed all the Titans. even assuming there was a reason to leave the Titans alive, why imprison them in a place humans can access, and leave the bow just lying around somewhere in the earth? only to kill the Titans anyway at the very end? that's just really very, very , very bad writing.
