Review of Immortals (2011) by Zach M — 19 Jul 2012
This was a visual feast of a movie. I don't get why sword & sandal movies are more about visuals than story (both 300 and Immortals employ looks over story).
The cast was well put together with Henry Cavill being a strong lead. Not often you see Stephen Dorff in a big budget movie anymore, thankfully he was fairly good.
Mickey Rourke was good and seemed to enjoy his role as Hyperion.
The rest of the cast John Hurt, Freida Pinto, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz and Luke Evans made good support.
I don't know how much of what happened in this movie was based on the real lore but the story felt a little weak. Thankfully Tarsem Singh paints an amazing visual movie to keep you involved.
