Review of Immortals (2011) by Angelina C — 15 Jul 2013
Since Mickey Rourke's fantastic comeback in The Wrestler, he had taken on some interesting roles and it is always a treat to watch him embraced his characters boldly. Here, he is absolutely fantastic as the power hungry King Hyperion. Bloodthirsty to the core. Future Man of Steel, Henry Cavill had only seven weeks to get into the shape for the role of Theseus. The sculpted star certainly looks the part. "I told him it couldn't be a six-pack," recalls Tarsem Singh. "You've got to come home with an eight-pack. There has to be no body fat because I don't have too many clothes for you to wear.".
Gruesome beheadings, bludgeonings, blood and gore galore. A visually driven director, Tarsem Singh had delivered a sword and toga Greek myth involving vengeance, treachery and destiny.
