Awesome surprise. I had zero interest. No one recommended this to me except someone whose taste in films I find questionable. Even Netflix thought I would rate this only 3 stars instead of 5. And it won almost no awards.
Like with Snow White and the Huntsman, I put off seeing this until Netflix said they were pulling it. But this is beautiful filmmaking. Articulate and smart. Perhaps smarter than 300. Not a movie about armies smashing into each other.
Should have been done in Greek. Gorgeous film.
