Review of Immortal Beloved (1994) by Veronica F — 10 Jun 2007
By far a better film adaptation of a composer's life than 'Amadeus'. The music performances were fabulous with Sir Georg Solti Conducting the actual orchestral score. Furthermore if anyone wishes to understand Beethoven's anger and frustration the depiction of his deafness gives you a very good window into this.
The sets are lavish and the cinematography and acting are superb. Even if you do not have 50 or so pieces of his music as I do, if you enjoy a well crafted piece of drama you will appreciate this film!
