Review of Immortal Beloved (1994) by Ben C — 29 Mar 2008
Gary Oldman's portrayal of the Maestro is breathtaking. You feel his pain as he progressively loses his hearing and you feel for him in the moments when his deafness is a bane. There are several scenes where you hear what he hears, nothing, and it makes it all the more amazing that he could compose things as beautiful as Fur Elise and Ode to Joy.
All in all a fantastic movie.
