Review of Immortal Beloved (1994) by Peter P — 12 Feb 2011
With a tragic romance that rivals Romeo and Juliet this brilliantly made portrait of the renowned composer is one of my favorite bio-pics. While elements of this amazing mystery are true, the fact that some may be speculation is irrelevant, because through some brilliant techniques of sight and sound we can get a small glimpse into the head of a the maestro himself.
Oldman also gives a memorable performance as Beethoven and the lush sets and locales make this a completely immersing experience. I highly recommend it!
