Review of Imitation of Life (1959) by Amy K — 28 Nov 2008
The Drama! The Over-acting! The CLOTHES! Lana Turner plays an actress struggling to make it big while trying to raise her young daughter (played by Sandra Dee) alone, well, with help from her friend and maid Juanita Moore who is struggling with her own daughter who is of mixed race and played beautifully by Susan Kohner.
Make sure you have tissues....the ending gets me every time.
