Review of Imitation of Life (1959) by All Round G — 04 Dec 2008
Movie dealing with race which doesnt seem to practice what it preaches. Ultimately Jaunita Moore's black character is shunted off into her drap room in her friend's (Lana Turner) lush apartment once Turner hits the big time in her acting profession.
She occassionally rubs Turner's feet when she's not serving her dinner. It's only saving grace is the rejection by her daughter, because she's ashamed of being half black. A five hanky job, but the rest of the movie is infuriatingly hollow.
