Review.

This movie with an abysmal start quickly turns into a cute alternative romantic comedy. Although the humor for the most part is not laugh out loud funny it is the personalities of the characters that really make this film. Piper Perabo playing Rachel and Matthew Goode playing Heck are the lead romantic couple and do an admirable job in that regard. I wasnâ??t sure if Piper Perabo was suppose to have an English accent or not but if she was supposed to it is one of the worst attempts in recent memory. The newlyweds provide plenty of material for jokes and dialogue through out the film. A typical romantic comedy except in the notion that heterosexuality isnâ??t the norm the story is none the less cute and well contrived. The characters that really bring this movie together are Rachelâ??s father played by Anthony Head and Heckâ??s best friend Cooper played by Darren Boyd. Rachelâ??s dad had this witty cynicism on marriage and life and didnâ??t have that filter in the brain to stop talking. Cooper was the typical sex maniac and his stories and pick up lines had me laughing right through the film. Lena Headey playing Luce did a good job in driving the love story between her and Rachel and it was easy to see why they got on so well. The movies stories also do great jobs in providing uncomfortable situations that probably would arise in a situation like this. It has the typical cheese that detracts from the film like when Luce is teaching Rachel how to yell knowing full well it will play an important part later in the film but you canâ??t fault romantic comedies for cheese. The movie ends typically but well and is a great finish on a movie that started off so horribly. I think Heck is straight (sorry for the unintentional pun) up the man in this one and his character had a feel good quality to it that a lot of guys can relate to. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for an above average romantic comedy with a little better quality dialogue then usual.

T Factor + Thought the comedy was funnier then I did then this could score higher on the rating scale.

T Factor - Thought the supporting cast was weaker then I did then this could score lower on the rating scale.

If you liked this film reel recommendations: Catch and Release, or Trust the Man.
