You know this movie didn't really get good reviews but I happened to really like it. Basically the movie is about a family that is getting over their eldest son kiling himself. The eldest son was the succesful swimmer and the most promising member of the family to be exact.

The youngest son is the main character and he's the one that first discovers his brothers dead body. He wasn't all that surprised when he found his brother and it actually seems as though he may have physically murdered his brother from bruises on his body and some of the things that he says to people but you find out otherwise later.

The movie shows the family breaking down, the mother played by Sigourney Weaver begins smoking pot and competing with her next door neighbor, the father played by Jeff Daniels doesnt go to work for months and just sits on a park bench every day, and the younger brother played by Emile Hirsch just kind of trys to keep everything on an even keel but just cant figure out how to do so.

The movie is an interesting character study and I'm glad that when I saw it on HBO I sat down and watched the whole thing. It's a great little flick and I reccomend that you go out and rent it when you are up for a dramedy about real life.
