Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Jeremy T — 28 Nov 2010
It's Borat!!!...oh wait...no. This is supposed to be real. A lot like watching a train wreck, this is an interesting portrait of a man melting down. But like most things nowadays more than likely this is fake.
If Phoenix is this far removed from reality he really needs to seek psychiatric treatment because the amateurity, naivety, and the disconnection from reality of Phoenix is hard to believe. In addition, some things are a little too perfect to have been "captured" on film (yet in a movie are needed to build character) - crying at Puff Daddy's reply, his concerts, the "s#$ting" scene, scenes with prostitutes, friend's etc) Whatever this film is (documentary or attempt at a new kind of fake-reality movie), its an interesting watch and proof the lines of reality and fiction are almost gone in entertainment.
