Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Lindsay F — 04 Oct 2010
I must say I was relieved to find out that this was a not a true documentary in the sense of the term documentary. However, it doesn't matter to me. This was an amazing piece of performance art. You have to understand what they were trying to do here.
They weren't trying to "fool" all of us..obviously because Affleck confirmed its fiction. They just wanted us to get a more full experience from the documentary. To go in without any preconceived ideas that "this isn't real".
I think it was daring, and took commitment. Loved this film. The ending was especially significant to me, I love how they rounded out the film, beginning with our innocence and then returning to that place of comfort where we took our first leap.
