Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Yvonne D — 01 Dec 2010
I felt like I was watching a train wreck. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. Without the clips of how the world was responding, it would have been more like a reality show. And, in the end, I don't have any more of a grasp as to what lead him down this road then I did when you saw him on the David Letterman show.
His early admission that he thought, with his film success, people would love whatever he did, was telling, and certainly set him up for some disappointment. Edward Olmos brought in a good analogy, and Sean Combs provided some well needed levity.
The rest? Further evidence of what fame and its cruel underbelly can do when it is unfortunately, and irrevocably attached, not only to one's persona, but to one's very "job.".
