Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Jesse S — 20 Dec 2010
A very emotional, though obviously fake, finale and the Letterman interview are the only interesting parts of this gruelingly awful, pretentious, annoying, and mind-numbing mockumentary who's main problem is that Phoenix is already demented by the time the film starts.
We never see what drove him that way, just how he is, and he plays such a despicable person. It's a tough watch, and not worth your time. Bad idea, gone worse. Which is sad, because Phoenix is giving his best performance ever.
Much more interesting when it wasn't revealed to be fake.
