Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Cory B — 05 Jan 2011
It infuriatingly missed the mark and could have been something amazing, but drags on and fails to get to the point (hint: there isn't one). I get what was trying to be said (entertainment media eats celebrities alive and never really cares about their real art and expression), but it could have been said much better and not framed as a mockumentary.
It would have worked amazingly as a narrative piece, though. Sooo not worth destroying your career for either. Some might argue that media destroyed things for him, but when you make a film where you snort coke, fuck hookers, get shit on the face and insult Ben Stiller, whether it's staged on not, you're done.
