Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Shae S — 20 Mar 2011

It's a very interesting concept, and I really admire Joaquin's performance, and his willingness to spend a year of his life behaving so strangely in public, but the film loses a lot of the power it could have had were it not done in this documentary style.

Casey Affleck doesn't seem to display mastery of the genre, but he does a decent enough job in his direction. The closing sequences of the film are quite thought-provoking and powerful, but the way the movie is shot is a little ungainly-looking, frankly.
