This movie almost transcends genre. It's not a documentary, because it's fake. But it's not a mockumentary, because it's not mostly funny. It's just a fake documentary. Maybe fockumentary? Or would that just insinuate a future Meet the Parents sequel? Anyway, there are parts that are really funny.
But then there are definitely parts that are just really sad. In either case, I'm pretty sure Joaquin Phoneix is an amazing actor.
