Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Steve S — 13 May 2012
I didn't quite know what to think going into this, even though I had read and heard different things, but I was rather entertained by the film, if not at times somewhat disturbed as well. Some parts make you laugh, some parts make you frustrated, and some are extremely calming.
It takes you on a very strange ride as you follow the mostly-made-up aftermath of Phoenix announcing his retirement from acting. Some absolutely ridiculous scenarios and encounters are concocted to make one hell of a story that takes you from the depths of a depressed, insane, drug addict to someone who believes there is something better at the end of the road.
Hard to even explain in words, this is something you'd have to see to understand, and if you're a fan of these kind of "mockumentaries," this is probably for you, since part of it is truth.
