Review of I'm Still Here (2010) by Mike S — 19 Jul 2012
Behind the "is it real?" debate lies a touching film about a truly tormented soul watching the entire entertainment industry turn on him. While uneven in parts, the "documentary" covers the entire spectrum of human emotion and is greatly appealing in that regard.
Furthermore, it conveys just how egotistical, superficial, and downright cynical both the music and film industries can be. Whether you choose to believe either his personal struggle or his acting skills, Joaquin Phoenix deserves props as does Casey Affleck for capturing it all on film.
