"Los Amantes Pasajeros" takes us back to Almodóvar's early days after the sci-fi thrill that was "La Piel Que Habito". The actors are extremely well-picked and the characters they portray instantly likeable, while the actual "I'm So Excited!" scene is achingly funny.

All in all, it's a memorable if unremarkable laugh-fest that feels a lot like a relaxation for the writer/ director after his more serious previous effort.
