Review of I'm So Excited! (2013) by Marcia K — 29 Jun 2013
Farce is an art. Edit an hour out of this and you might have a Saturday Night Live for the enlightened. There are a few guffaws at the beginning, but the strain of trying to make this a full length movie gets boring.
So do unending renditions of the same simulated sex acts, and repeated descriptions of oral sex. Cramming in scenes that show the most outrageous characters as having the same human concerns as everyone and their own personal morality doesn't work in this farce because the actors are directed in those segments to -- pardon the pun -- play it straight.
This comes off as an apology for making the same old faggot jokes in the rest of the movie. Only a gay director could have gotten away with making this movie. No doubt it will find its audience.
