Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Rob D — 26 Jan 2009
Without all of the pretentious crap, this could have been an excellent biopic. As it is, with all of the pretentious crap, it is a waste of three outstanding performances by three talented actors. For starters, this movie could have done without Richard Gere as a cowboy version of Dylan in the wild west who watches a live performance by Jim James.
And what was with the spiders? And the reporter's acid trip? Maybe all of this garbage was inserted because there really isn't an interesting story to tell about Dylan's real life.
