I love Bob Dylan and have been looking forward to this movie for ages now. However, I was left rather underwhelmed with the film. It's your basic case of style over substance. Visually the film looks good and the cast includes great performances from Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and even Charlotte Gainsbourg is good despite struggling to disguise her British accent. Richard Gere's scenes are really boring and make the film even worse. The film just isn't very engrossing and just generally seems pretentious.
