Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Emily W — 18 Aug 2009
I know next to nothing about Bob Dylan, besides being familiar with some of his more famous songs. I don't know which aspects of Dylan any of these characters were supposed to represent. And yet I enjoyed this film.
Did the film tell a story? No. Did the film tell a few short stories? No. Did the film even make much sense? Not really. But I went into the film expecting these things. Maybe that helped me to take it as it is.
I can't say I understood much of it. I almost think I enjoyed it simply because it was different from the plethora of other films I have seen in my life. I guess what I'm saying is that I have no clue why I enjoyed this film.
But I did enjoy it.
