Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Kae K — 12 Jan 2011
The non-linear plot structure was a refreshing surprise, giving me a series of short stories that spanned time periods, centuries and backgrounds... This only served to enhance the idea that Dylans messages are timeless.
I loved the different shades of the characters, the odd camera shots, the subtle references(i.e., the Beatles in the park with Cate Blanchett!)... A very thought provoking movie, food for thought, interesting and exciting, if you're not too much of a snob to give it a chance.
Chew on that a bit before you decide to hate it 'cause you don't care for Dylan. Challenges the notion that movies should all be reduced to a formula instead of an art form, meant to be played with, altered, experimented with.
