Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Derrick M — 08 Nov 2011
A multifaceted diamond, I'm Not There joyously freewheels through the times of Bob Dylan, attempting to encapsulate the many faces of the great man. Director Todd Haynes delivers a song-cycle of a movie filled with vivid, exaggerated and contradictory impressions of a man who confounds a culture looking to peg him with a definition.
A true art film stuffed with substance and subtext, I'm Not There is a rare and refreshing cinematic experience indeed.
