Review of I'm All Right Jack (1959) by Richard D — 02 Jul 2008
This is a pretty savage satire of the class system in the UK, and is as relevant now as it was at the time of its making for the most part, although it has dated in some respects. No one is let off easily here, apart from the hapless buffoonish hero. A great cast manage to flesh out characters that in other, lesser hands, might have just been mere archetypes.
Its understanding of the British social structure of the post-war years coupled with its wicked sense of humour makes it great viewing.
