Review of I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (2006) by Jy S — 29 Oct 2008
When a guy can go from making movies like Oldboy to this, that's when you know he's a genius. Not everything works here, and it's a little long, but that's OK. Most surprising to me was the performance of this Rain fellow - apparently he's a massive pop star all over Asia, but he's totally convincing, unlike the nastiness we rightly associate with teen idols who want to become actors over here.
Chan-wook Park is one of the most exciting directors out there today, and I can't wait to see where he goes next.
