As a fan of the vengance trilogy, I was really looking forward to watch I'm a Cyborg But Thatt's OK. The idea of having Park Chan-wook style in a story with the plot synopsis (a girl in a mental hospital who tinks she's a cyborg and doesn't want to eat, and a guy helping her to eat) sounded really promising.
The film keeps many of the characteristic qualities of other Park Chan-wook movies, such as an amazing cinematography and art design. As usual, the use of color is amazing and every shot feels fresh and magical. The use of music and excellent performances complete setting the whole environment of the film.
However, there's an aspect where other Park Chan-wook films are strong and this films feels a bit week, and this aspect is the plot. Although the basic plot from the synopsis is indeed interesting and charming on its own, the way the plot develops through the film is not as consistent as in other Chan-wook films.
