Review of I'll See You in My Dreams (2015) by Chris P — 31 Aug 2015
The one thing I'll See Youn in My Dreams has over other films about dating in seniority (i.e. Enough Said) is that it feel old-timey in a way that's heart-felt. The movie carries a real human emotion to it, that is heightened by a great sense of humor, and a really likable tone.
The storyline plays it safe, but this is fine when the cast shines this affably. Blythe Danner enchants, Sam Elliot is perfectly lovable, and Martin Star finally shows he can play a character that isn't a douchey nerd.
Bring your grandma to this one, and be shocked at how you'll like it just as much as her.
