Review of Ill Manors (2012) by Carlton R — 25 Jun 2012
As directorial debuts go, it's a brave, ambitious and clearly passionate effort. Plan B's home turf is hard, gritty and dangerous. A harsh reflection on Cameron's overstated 'broken Britain'.
The use of camera angles and perspectives never tires and the cleverly woven stories keep the film's pace. Some of them leave you quite uncomfortable. The use of the soundtrack and clever verse make this movie a modern day attempt at Shakespeare.
For an eye-opening urban gangster flick set in the floodlight shadows of the London 2012 Olympic Park, it's certainly worth a trip to the cinema.
