I have been a fan of craig ferguson for a long time, so this was a nice find. I was surprised to see that he wrote it and directed it as well. I don't think it was bad at all for a first time out. the story wasn't particularly original, but the characters were completely charming and likeable (especially ferguson's Paul Kerr) and I cared what happened to them.

there was one small surprise in the last half hour which showed that charlotte church's character was more mature than her mother thought before the typical hollywood happy ending, and that helped a little too.

it didn't hurt that the great anthony head (it's always a joy and a surprise for me to see him in something)had a small role as well. when the credits rolled, I was smiling, and there isn't much more you can ask for in a light film like this.

mission accomplished mr. ferguson.
